MSF MAX - LARGE-SCALE FIBER LASER CUTTING MACHINE
MSF Max is a giant among MicroStep's fiber laser cutting solutions. The high-speed 3D cutting machine is dedicated for precise processing of large-sized components for different industries, e.g. shipbuilding. MSF Max offers great production versatility: 2D cutting, bevel cutting up to 45°, drilling up to Ø 30 mm, tapping up to M20, countersinking and marking.
The machine's safety cabin allows utilization of a work area up to 50 meters long and 6 meters wide. Thanks to its mobile design, the cabin can travel along the cutting table to cover different cutting areas, allowing for simultaneous cutting in the covered zone and loading/unloading in the uncovered zone.
The patented auto-calibration system ACTG® guarantees long-term accuracy of bevel cutting process. In MSF Max, the ACTG® station is efficiently integrated into the gantry to speed up the calibration process.
Optionally, a retractable version of the mobile cabin allows to create different work area sizes and thus enables unmatched flexibility of operation.

MSF Max is also available in a special “C” version with a compact safety cabin that encapsulates just the gantry instead of the whole work area. MSF Max C has the same features as MSF Max but requires significantly less installation space, so it is ideal for customer who still need to cut long parts but have limited workshop area. MSF Max C is supplied up to effective working dimensions 28 m x 3 m.

Laser Bevel Head: Precision Cutting up to 45°
With capabilities for V, X, Y, or K-cuts up to 45° with micro joints, the laser bevel head on the MSF Max facilitates an Additional Beveling Process (ABP) for streamlined weld edge preparation. Its user-friendly software tools simplify programming, aided by an auto-calibrated height sensor ensuring precise control across all cutting angles.
Calibration Station with Integrated ACTG Unit
For models equipped with a laser bevel head, the integrated ACTG unit and auto-calibration feature offer enhanced precision. Integrated into the gantry, this combined calibration station includes a pad for capacitive height sensor calibration and a nozzle cleaning system for optimized functionality.
Fully Automatic Drilling and Tapping: Efficient and Precise
The MSF Max offers fully automatic drilling up to Ø 30 mm and tapping up to M20, complemented by an automatic tool exchange system with a magazine accommodating up to 8 tools. The pneumatic retainer ensures accuracy during the drilling process, supported by the Auto-calibration of drill bits (ACDB) feature.
MSF Max C: Optimal Performance in Compact Space
The MSF Max also comes in a compact version, MSF Max C, encapsulating only the gantry within a compact safety cabin. Retaining the standard model's configuration options, the MSF Max C requires significantly less installation space, making it a perfect choice for customers with limited workshop areas seeking uncompromised performance.
